St. Patrick's Day Parade Organization of Surfside Beach

Fellow Leprechauns:

Our infamous St. Patrick’s Day Costume Contest will return March 2, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM at Bridge Harbor in Surfside Beach.  Philip Lee with Ashley will provide the live music, and we will be serving the best ever Irish beef stew & trimmings.  Click here to download a flyer.

Remember to dress in your best Irish garb and enter the costume contest!

First place adult and first place children’s category winners also earn a ride on a convertible in the parade.

The parade will roll on Saturday, March 16, 2024.  We are asking entrants to have their entries at City Hall by 10:00 am. Judging will begin at 10:30 am, and the parade will start moving through the streets of Surfside Beach at 1:00, ending at City Hall.   We will judge five categories: floats, vehicles, motorcycles, 4-wheelers & golf carts, and horses.

There are also three much sought awards, the Oddball Award (named for our own Kelly Hamby), the Wayne Holcomb Award (for the person with the most blarney), and the Jack Jackson Award (for the float displaying the most fun).  We will award trophies for these three winners.

When you arrive at City Hall, please register your entry.  There is no entry fee, and pre-registration is not required.  Unfinished floats are to proceed to the Surfside Boat Ramp for completion.  No support vehicles will be allowed at the City Hall staging area. Signage to the boat ramp will be visible.  We do ask that once security has designated your parking area, please leave your entry there.  Security will direct you into the parade lineup after the judging and award ceremony have concluded.

T-shirts, assorted St. Pat.'s goodies, koozies, throw beads, and specialty beads will be available at the parade staging area.  If you want your beads before the parade, contact the number at the bottom of this page.  T-shirts and koozies will also be available through local businesses before the St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Organization of Surfside Beach is a 501(c)(4) organization.  Local businesses and private donations help to support the parade with proceeds benefiting Surfside Beach’s Police/EMS & Volunteer Fire Departments.

The St. Patrick’s Day Organization of Surfside Beach appreciates your support!  We hope to see you at our 2024 events.
